| Item | How it is priced |
|---|---|
| Waiting past the free wait | Priced at the waiting rate in the company's quote; with the flight number in the request, the free wait counts from the landing, so a late flight on its own adds nothing |
| A stop on the way | Priced per stop in the quote when the request names the stop |
| Child seats | Priced per seat in the quote when the company can bring them; ask with each child's age and weight |
Seats and bags for all three sizes, van included, are compared on the page about an airport van transfer in Dallas.
What the fixed fare covers
Under the standing terms on the terms page, every fixed fare a company names covers the costs of a normal run to or from the airport:
- The car and its driver for the whole ride
- Tolls on the route the driver takes
- The airport's access charge
- A free wait: 30 minutes after a domestic landing, 45 after an international landing at DFW, 15 at your address
- Large bags up to what your car size holds
Extras, each on its own line
A few things change from rider to rider. The company's written quote shows each of them on a line of its own, so you see what it would cost before you say yes. Child seats have their own question on the form, and a stop goes in the note:
- A stop on the way to or from the airport, priced when you ask for one
- Child seats, priced when you ask for them on the form
- Waiting past the free wait, at the waiting rate the quote shows
How a fare is set
Two things decide the starting figure. The first is the band: the road miles between your pickup address and the airport, split at 12 and at 25 miles. The second is the size of the car. A sedan carries up to 3 riders and 3 large bags, an SUV up to 6 riders and 6 large bags, and a van up to 14 riders and 12 large bags.
The from-figure is a floor, not a promise. The company that takes your request names its own fixed rate in writing before you say yes, and that rate can sit above the figure in the table. You see the company's number first, and you decide. Nothing is passed on until you answer.
Once you accept, the number holds
A fixed rate is the fare you accepted, and it does not follow the clock or the map. Heavy traffic on the way to DFW, road work on the highway, a detour the driver picks: none of it moves the number. What can add to it is set out in the company's quote and confirmation: a stop or child seats you asked for, waiting past the free wait, or a late cancellation or no-show, each at the price written there.
Who pays whom
You pay the car company. You can pay by card in the car; when a company asks for payment another way, its confirmation says how. The site takes no payment, and the desk never charges a rider for anything, the quote included.
The desk is paid by the companies. Each one pays it the same set fee for every ride it receives, whichever company it is. The desk sends that bill to the company and never to you, and the fare itself is the company's to set.
When the numbers look right, use the form on this page, the same one you find where you reserve an airport transfer in Dallas. If you are unsure which size fits your group and bags, compare the sedan, SUV and van first, then send the request.
Tipping the driver
The tip sits outside the fare. It is not in the from-figure, not in the fixed rate and not in the company's written terms, because it is yours to give or keep. If the driver helped with heavy bags or waited through a late landing at Love Field, you can hand it over in the car, in whatever amount you choose.
Ask for your rate
Send the request form on this page with your address, airport and car size, and a written fixed rate comes back to you. Prefer to talk it through? Phone the desk during the hours shown.
